"Well, that's the last of it," Uruha pipes cheerfully as he sets his bundle on the bed with the rest of Ruki's belongings.
"I don't know where I'm gonna put all this stuff," the vocalist sighs looking over the pile.
"Don't worry baby, we'll make room," Reita reassures the smaller man.
"Your rooms big, but not THAT big," Aoi points out.
"It doesn't all have to fit in here," Reita counters. "We'll do some creative rearranging with this room and the one across the hall. I'm sure everything'll fit fine."
"Across the hall?" Ruki asks, moving towards the door.
Reita moves into the hall.
Stepping over, he opens the door.
"Most of the stuff can just go up in the attic. It’s suppose to be a guest bedroom. But since we never have any guests..," Reita trails off with a shrug.
"So Ruki could have his own room?" Kai asks from the doorway.
"If he wants," Reita moves to stand closer to Ruki. "It's your choice, babe."
"Either way," Miyavi says, cracking his knuckles, "this room needs to be cleared out. Grab a box and lead us to the attic."
As the others move to pick up boxes, Kai goes over to the closet.
Opening the door, he sees that it's nearly empty.
"Is the dresser like this to?" he asks.
"I guess," Reita answers from the doorway. "Why?"
"How about if I finish emptying everything out of here and start cleaning it up while you guys clear the boxes away?"
"I know what you're up to," Aoi smirks at him. "You just want to get out of the lifting and carrying."
"If you'd rather clean, that's fine with me. I just don't think you'll do as good of a job. Don't you want Ruki to start off with a nice, clean room?"
"He's got a point," Uruha smiles. "Kai is the better cleaner. So come on, lazy-ass, grab a box."
Laughing, the others leave Kai to his cleaning.
Making several trips back and forth to the attic until the room is cleared of all the boxes.
Including the ones that Kai filled from the closet and dresser drawers.
"Anybody else getting hungry?" Miyavi asks, flopping onto the floor.
"Take out?" Aoi smiles at him.
"Sounds good to me," Uruha looks up at them. "You two go get the food and the rest of us'll keep working."
"That sounds even better," Aoi smirks.
So the two men make a list of what their friends want before heading out.
While they're gone Uruha volunteers to help Ruki sort thru his things.
Deciding what's going to go where.
Kai prepares to finish the cleaning.
Asking Reita to stay and help him.
"Actually, I just wanted an excuse to talk to you alone."
"Are you going to ask what my intentions are?" Reita smiles at the drummer.
"I think it's a little late for that. Don't you? What's it been? Seven months that you two have been seeing each other now?"
"Yeah. So?" the bassists asks a bit suspicious.
"So. Have you really thought this thru?"
"Thought what thru?" the bassists asks.
"You and Ruki living together. Now. You've kind of been pushed into this."
"Like I said earlier, we're going to move in together eventually. So what's the big deal?"
"Maybe. But neither of you really had time to prepare."
"What are you worried about, Kai?" the blond asks, trying to get to the real issue.
"What if Ruki isn't ready for this? You two living together, I mean. It's a big step. You have to admit that."
"Ok. I get what you're saying. So what do you suggest I do?" the bassist concedes.
"Don't push. I know you'd rather have him in your room. But let him start out with a room of his own. A place where he can get away."
Reita nods.
"That's the point of the other room. To give him someplace that's -his-. So he doesn't feel like he's intruding or something."
Kai smiles.
"I guess I didn't give you enough credit. You have thought about this."
"Ruki's important to me, Kai. I want to make him happy. And I'll do whatever it takes. Even if that means letting him sleep apart from me for a while."
It's Kai's turn to nod.
Smiling at the blond man as he returns his attention to the task at hand.
They finish cleaning the room in silence.

"Hey, you okay?" Uruha asks, throwing an arm around Ruki's shoulders.
"I guess," the smaller man tries to smile at his friend.
But it looks more than a little strained.
"Don't pay any attention to what your father said. You know better than I do that he's as sympathetic as a rock."
"It's not my dad," the vocalist sits with a sigh. "It's Reita."
Looking more than a little confused, the guitarist sits next to his friend.
"What if living together drives us apart?"
The taller man chuckles.
"He's already experienced your temper. If that didn't scare him off, nothing will."
"This is serious, Uru. I'm..," he stops, looking at his hands.
"You're scared? It's alright to be afraid, Ruki. This isn't something you were ready to face yet."
"That's part of the problem. I don't know if I'm ready to give up my independence."
"Living with Reita doesn't mean you're not independent. He's not your father. He doesn't want to control you."
"You're right. He hasn't acted like my dad. But this could change everything. I mean, we'll be together pretty much all the time now. What if..."
"What are you really afraid of, Ruki? That Reita will get tired of you?" Uruha snorts. "That's about as likely as me and Aoi getting tired of each other. In other words: it'll never happen."
The vocalist chuckles.
"Maybe. But me and Rei aren't like you and Aoi. Not really."
"Mostly because you two actually took the time to get to know each other before you had sex. You're relationship is solid, Ruki. A lot more so than when me and Aoi first hooked up."
Uruha watches his friend.
Wondering if his words are doing any good.
"You're not still hung up on the fact that his folks are rich, are you?"
Ruki looks away.
Which Uruha takes as a bad sign.
"Look, Ruki. I know trusting isn't easy for you. But Reita's different. You know he isn't going to do anything to hurt you."
"You're right. I do know that. It's just easier to say I trust him than it is to stop doubting everything."
He looks his friend in the eye as he finishes, "I keep thinking that he's too good to be true."
"So you're waiting for the shoe to fall. For something that signals the beginning of the end."
Uruha shakes his head. "Just let it go, Ruki. He loves you."
The vocalist doesn't say it out loud.
But that doesn't stop him from thinking it.
Thinking that one thing that’s been nagging him for some time now.
Why?
Heaving a sigh, the smaller man grabs the nearest bag.
"Come on. The sooner we get started, the sooner we'll get done."
Giving his friend one more concerned look, Uruha grabs a bag of his own.
Still worried that his short friend might be borrowing trouble.

"All I'm saying is that it's weird," Aoi was saying.
For what seemed to Miyavi like the millionth time.
"I never would've taken you for the type," the guitarist was still repeating himself.
"Will you just shut up and drive?"
"I can multi-task," the guitarist smiled cheekily at his passenger.
"That's nice. I'm happy for you. But can you please just give it a rest?"
Still smiling, Aoi gave his head a shake.
"This is too much fun. Besides, you have no one to come to your rescue. You're at my mercy," he chuckled.
"Ya know, if you weren't such a pervert you'd have more friends."
"What do I need more friends for? I've already got the really important ones. Besides," he adds, pulling into a spot and parking his car, "I think I've pretty much behaved myself today. I haven't said shit since this morning. But I can only hold it in for so long before I explode."
"I'd really rather not hear about your 'explosions', if you don't mind," Miyavi said, reaching for the door handle.
"Aw come on, Myv. Indulge me. Did you let Kai be top? Did you let him abuse your ass?" Aoi started as soon as he caught up with the other.
"I've got a question of my own first. Why the hell are you so curious about this?"
"You're the one that called me a pervert," the other answered, stopping outside. "Isn't that reason enough?"
Rubbing an hand across his face, Miyavi sighed.
"You really aren't gonna let this go, are you?"
Smiling, Aoi shook his head again.
"Not until you answer my questions."
"You’ll have to stop asking as soon as we get back to Reita's" Miyavi tried one last time.
"What makes you think I'll be in a hurry? I can always take the long way."
"God, you're relentless. Let's just get the food now. I'll answer maybe a question or two on the drive back. Is that OK?"
Aoi opened the door, smirking at his friend.
"It's a start."
Miyavi took a deep breath before getting back into Aoi's car.
But the other man didn't say a word as he started his car.
Pulling out onto the street, Aoi broke the silence.
"OK. So, first question. Did you bottom to Kai?"
"Yes. And I don't see what the big deal is? Don't you and Uruha switch sometimes?"
"Sometimes. Tho he prefers to be the one doing the screwing."
"And that doesn't bother you? So why is it so weird for me to be willing to let Kai take charge?"
"Well, for starters, you're not Uruha. He's more laid back. Less of a control freak."
Scowling, Miyavi muttered, "I'm not a control freak."
"Maybe that was a bad choice of words. Would you agree that you're more aggressive?"
At Myv's nod, Aoi went on.
"And secondly, I'm not Kai."
"Thank god! I don't think I'd do well with someone like you."
"Oh please, you'd be lucky to find someone like me. And not just because I want it all the time, either."
At Aoi's cheeky grin, Miyavi couldn't help but laugh.
"I was talking about you're constant questions. They drive me crazy as it is. Poor Uruha."
"Oh, I don't bother Uruha with questions. Just a few. Like: 'Where?', 'When?', And the occasional 'Can we try that again?'" the guitarist smirked.
"Anyway, what I was saying is that you're aggressive and Kai's not."
"Wanna bet on the last bit?"
Aoi looked at him in surprise.
"Could you just drive now?"
Eyes back on the road, Aoi laughed.
"You can't honestly expect me to leave that one alone. You're telling me Kai's an aggressive lover?"
"I'm saying he can be. But then so can anybody. It shouldn't be that much of a surprise anyway."
"Kai has never showed us that side of him," Aoi said, making the last turn towards Reita's.
"Bullshit. The guy's a drummer. That should've been your first hint. The second would be the way he drives you guys during practice."
"Well, shit, hell, damn and fuck," Aoi said after a moments thought. "You're right. Why didn't I see that before?"
"Probably because you aren't used to thinking of Kai having sex."
"Very true," Aoi laughed. "And then you came along. Ruining all my pre-conceived notions of our sweet, innocent drummer. Shame on you."
As Aoi got out of the car, he threw one more thing at Miyavi.
"I guess that explains the limp then, huh? He pounded your ass the way he pounds the drums."
Miyavi groaned at the other's smile.
Both men reaching for the food in the backseat before turning towards the house.
