I can appreciate the sentiment. Often I would really like celebrities to just do what I pay them to do, sing or act or whatever. The listing of them as non-patriots by some in this country was certainly wrong and people need to allow others to expess opinions without calling them names.

Overall, I just really don't care about the Dixie Chicks. They seem to be trying to make themselves martyrs.

I agree. Even if I agree with them about President Bush, I get the feeling that this is a publicity stunt.

And they do realize that freedom of speech has to do with the government not punishing them right? Freedom of speech does not protect you from being criticized for what you say.

Stop criticizing the Dixie Chicks. You have the freedom of speech, not the freedom to criticize.

i think "Team America: World Police" said it best when one of the members of the Film Actors Guild stated

"We as actors must read the newspaper every morning, and spout whatever we read as our personal opinions."
