t's just that there were a bunch of times when I *tried* to feed him and he just kept trying to beat me up instead.
Yeah, why do they do that? Henry has been doing that for a couple of weeks and I don't get it. Eventually, he eats and all is well. But there's a whole struggle that happens now if we don't approach him just so. I think he doesn't like feeling like he's being forced to do something. Like when he was younger, I would just stick the nipple in his mouth and that was that. But now, I have to just leave the nipple near his mouth and then he goes to it on his own. If I help too much or try to sell it, it's all over and he starts crying. Weird.
hmm. I wonder if your technique will work. It does seem like he's sort of like "don't hold me like that! don't push me! don't tell me what to do!" and I'm like, "COME ON, GET SERIOUS!" And then he beats me up. And then I give him to Jason and he looks at me in this really smug way.
I remember that phase very well. It was around 4 or 5 months for both of my boys. Like they wanted to be in charge of the feedings. Um, yeah, and I'm the one stuck with the exploding breasts. Boys, I tell ya...
Lennon does that sometimes too. just earlier i knew he was hungry but he wouldn't eat until i got up with him, walked around for awhile, and snuck the boob into his mouth while still walking. then he ate like he was STARVING. babies are so weird sometimes.
Deacon hardly ate at all yesterday. We had a lot going on, and I would notice it had been HOURS since he ate and tried to feed him. He'd eat a little, you know so ma's feelings weren't hurt, and then go back to talking/playing/cooing/watching/wriggling/smiling/flirting.
