Heh, we don't have the massive advertisements bombarding us everyday in this town. Just those "close-minded, media influenced, bubble-secured, unworldly, uninteresting" people you describe. I work with some of them :\ I was delighted to find Fair-Trade chocolate in our Target store while working there one day (though a debatable issue I'd admit, to whether its actually doing any good) and everyone there laughed at me because they didn't know what it was and couldn't care less. Working there makes me feel horrible at times because I am involving myself in this corporate "you need this" bullshit. People buy $3 shirts and think "Wow, what a bargain!" without considering or realising the huge profit margin, or how that item was made. /rant
