Home grown fruits and peppers are delicious. Delicious.
On the other hand, 'organic' is one of the strangest food labels I have ever seen. Technically no food is inorganic! That would be like eating plastic or something.
The actual 'organic' label applies to foods that are grown under a lovely batch of conditions that results in lower crop yields and less healthy crops, using 'organic' pesticides that don't have to be approved for use. So basically you get less and smaller produce, and it's much more likely to either have harmful chemicals or bacterial/insect contaminants. No thanks, imo.
It's fine for your backyard garden, because you know exactly what's going on there. It's fine from a local farm, too, unless you suspect the farmer of being... yeah.
I'd never voluntarily buy anything labeled 'organic', though.
On a total side note? Homemade bread? Also delicious.
The bread and juice are easy (just buy a bread machine, my family has one, and a juicer or squeeze your juice yourself in which case it takes a while). The herbs you can grow yourself. You can make glycerine soap yourself, starting with a kit for fun.

I saw your entry in aboutmyjob (from, like, a year and a half ago, yes) and would now like to be your friend. (A little about me: I'm 20 years old and pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science.)
