Lou Dobbs has been fired from CNN.  He is now embarking on a whinging campaign that should probably find him a nice spot on Faux News. Bye bye Lou.  We won't miss you one bit.

Maybe we should have a pool on how long before he shows up on FOX News.

Uh huh. I am sure they will find a way to add him to their roster of assholes.

If they bring Dobbs on board, then that means that another Fox xenophobe gets shoved out, and they're all too thin-skinned to let that happen. The only way I can see Fox hiring Dobbs is if they create a whole new channel, comparable to Fox Business, just to keep him on board. And if they do that, they might as well just take the money they'd spend on him and run it through a tree mulcher, because they'll get the same exact return one way or another.

Well, he's claiming that he left "to pursue other opportunities", but the reality is that he was fired due to shitty ratings, not because he was a racist. That simply confirms what I've been pointing out for years when it comes down to golden children in journalistic endeavours: protests and complaints mean nothing, because the only thing their bosses ever see is a declining revenue stream.

That's not to say that we can't be a bit proactive. The fun now will be in letting any potential new employer know that hiring Dobbs will cause a similar drop in advertising revenue. Going after the media outlet itself won't make a difference (when I worked at The Met, I listened to the editorial staff literally yukking it up over the letters of complaint coming in about its star columnist, and the editor regularly admitted that he was writing fake fan mail for said columnist to keep the little darling from throwing literal temper tantrums), but going after the advertisers makes a BIG difference.

And that is what the campaigns did. They went after advertisers as well as CNN et voila! Bye bye Dobbs.

I missed that part. Thanks for passing that along. I knew about Glenn Beck's issues, but I didn't know that anyone was targeting Dobbs, too.

All I can say is...Meh! Does anyone really give a shit about CNN anymore? All these talking heads just give me gas. There is no such thing as unbiased news reporting anymore. Everyone has an agenda..Liberal, conservative, it's all bullshit in the end. Small groups of people wanting the herd to follow their bidding, using whatever means that works. Whether it's scare tactics like immigration, and terrorism or the dangling carrot, like universal health care, or some such. No matter what jackass we elect, or watch on t.v. We are all fucked, in the end.
