Use of alcohol nman_in_black December 24 2005, 19:32:49 UTC
Careful--? Me too. I don't use any at all anymore outside the sacrament, and even there, am extremely chary about how much is consumed--just a tiny, tiny amount. This has been going on since April of 1983....a fair number of years now! Twenty-two? Going on twenty-three?

My number one weakness is tobacco, however, with none of that now since September 1975...which makes THIRTY years. I am sorta over the craving (almost) now.

Snort. (Speaking of which--there are some things I would NEVER dare try!)

Yes, I am the same way about certain drug uses. Mike and I both enjoyed some use of marijuana in college (much milder than alcohol and very "soothing,") -- but when we got married and were so suddenly pregnant, we quit what little use we had made of it cold turkey. I have missed it on occasion, esp. now that I hear it works so well for chronic pain -- but even if it were legal for medicinal use in Tennessee (which it's not), I couldn't use it because of my kidney disease, as it decreases kidney function severely, if for only a limited time (a few weeks after use). I don't think my body could tolerate that, frankly ( ... )
