I've come to see letting go as a perpetual process. This not only creates room for beneficial changes, but also includes rediscovery of valuable things buried under the clutter.
It is a physical process as well as psychological. Sometimes physical objects evoke the emotional. Tossing out an object you've held on to for a long time can facilitate letting go.
Saying no gets easier. The hardest part was allowing myself to realize that "it's OK to be selfish". Like anything else, the longer you do it, the more natural it feels.
