Rain
Title: Rain

Summary: Would you prefer sharing umbrella with someone you love or running in the rain with the person you love? This really took place in a universe far far away from the planet Earth.
A/N: This is a fluff dedicated to prongs_012, jcqlnmarcos and undeniablysarah. Do hope it will bring a smile onto their faces and other jongkey shippers too !
The dark clouds gathered around the sky and covered the glaring Sun. Strong wind started brewing in the air and played with the leaves on the floor. Soon enough, rain started falling down from the sky and hit anyone that was in its way. Umbrellas were opened up one by one, shielding themselves from the rainwater.
Key stood in front of the school entrance and stare at the heavy downpour. Many students had successfully left the building with umbrellas up above their head. He cursed himself for not listening to his mum when she warned him about the possibility of raining after school ends. There was nothing much that can be done apart from waiting for the rain to stop.
He looked up at the dark sky and prayed hard that the rain will stop soon. But his prayers did not seems to be working as it became much heavier then it was few minutes ago. Key pouted to himself and continued on waiting.
“Key!” Jonghyun called out from behind.
Key turned around to find the older one approaching him.
“Are you waiting for someone?”
“Yeah, the rain.” The diva replied with an obviously look.
Both of them remain quiet and carried on accompanying each other while waiting for the rain to stop. Key was getting more impatient as each and every second passed. He wanted to be at home in his pink room drinking a cup of hot macchiato and snickering at those who are caught in the rain. But he was stuck here with his best friend…well not that he mind.
“I want to go home.” Key whined like a little kid.
Jonghyun chuckled at younger one’s childish act which he secretly loved. There was no way the rain was going to stop straight away just for almighty diva Key. But there was a way to reach home straight away without waiting further.
“Do you really want to go home now?” Jonghyun asked again and Key nodded in reply.
“Give me your hand.”
“Why?” The younger one did not understand why a hand would be of any help in getting home early.
“Do you trust me?”
The answer was obvious, he trusted him with all his heart but he did not dare to tell him that. Key stuck out his hands towards Jonghyun and the next moment he found his best friend’s hand on his. Their hands clasp tightly together and Key looked up to find Jonghyun giving him an assuring smile.
“Hold on to me tight.”
Jonghyun ran out and pulled Key with him. They ran out of the school gates with their hands still stick together like there was super glue between it. Normally, Key would have killed anyone that dragged him to run. But because that person was Jonghyun, he did not.
Despite getting drenched from head to toe, the blissful smile never left their faces. They made their way through big crowds hiding under the umbrella and students that had used textbook or files to shelter from the rain. Everyone witness the sweet moment of Jongkey, holding hands and running in the rain.
Many people had thought that couples sharing an umbrella were so sweet and romantic. Actually sharing umbrella was not romantic at all, running in the rain together was. It was bizarre to think that two people suffering together were actually sweet. Alas, it is. If they are able to go through thick and thin together, it would prove that their love for each other are strong enough to survive for as long as they want to.
And they proved it.
Key’s house was not that far from the school and their stamina was enough to bring them there. Both were panting hardly and dripping wet as they stood at the doorstep. Both of them were wiping away the rainwater that was affecting their sight and Jonghyun then started squeezing out water from his uniform, trying to dry himself up a little.
It was a great opportunity for Key to ask Jonghyun to stay with him for the afternoon and of course the younger one had to cherish it. There were many times he wanted him to stay, but could not come up with any valid reason. This time around, he had a reason for him to stay.
“Do you want to wait in my house until the rain stop?” Key offered shyly, hoping he would agree.
Jonghyun lifted his head and turned to stare at him with a skeptical look but quickly recovered from it.
“If you want me to, I will.”
A smile had once again showed upon their faces.
Perhaps today was the day that their relationship can be something more than best friend.

Inspired by the rain on 29/10/2010 in Singapore around 4:15p.m.
I just completed my Chemistry Paper 2 and I walked out of the examination hall to find the rain.
Well, just like the story I had no umbrellas :(
There is a new couple in my class and they shared an umbrella ~ haha
so sweet :) LOL but still jongkey is sweeter <3 LOL
Anyway, in the end I walked in the rain with my group of friends.
Sorry if the story is failed and I wrote this around midnight again
I rush it through since I won't be free until afternoon or evening because of a church wedding.
Plus I have to study for upcoming papers.
Seriously can't wait to attend it ! I can write a wedding scene from it ~ haha
Jongkey love might not be real, but it will live in my heart forever.
