And if this is true.... redbaydreamer January 6 2012, 12:10:03 UTC
I am sorry I don't want a president to has to test everthing with a poll or a focus group. I want someone who makes decisions based on the best information his or her advisors have for him and then just do it. I don't want someone who does what the perception is of the public's idea of what he or she should do. This I think is how we got into the mess we are in. The President is like a parent, he or she needs to do what is best for the country, even if it is hard, even if it is unpopular, even if it won't get him where he or she wants to be in the history books. The President does not do what he or she wants. That position is supposed to be above that but just in case we have those darn checks and balances, so if The President is always asking a poll or a focus group what to do and bending to the whims of the other two parts of those checks and balances, guess what we got out of balance. Sigh.
