Alexander Keith's

And Keith's was sold in a case of cans, like Molson's and Labatt's, for the comparatively cheap case price. Often times, the smaller breweries' offerings are sold in 12-packs and ( Read more... )

Keith's is now a property of Labatt's, which is now a property of InBev. It's been imported systematically to the states since last March, I think. But you are right - here in the States, it doesn't punch its weight for the price. It's a good beer, but it is in the price range with clearly superior beers. Here in CA, Shiner falls into the same problem. I bought some Keith's (they only had the Nova Scotia Lager and Nova Scotia Brown Ale) when I was putting your present together, but they clearly had been sitting on the shelf a while, and were not impressive for the price.

But then, what better beer to quaff (or better pint glass to quaff from) when singing along to "...and I just made Halifax yesterday. (God damn them all!)"?

I did buy a six pack today of the Pale Ale. It was a handsome color -- almost as reddish as our floors -- but a little reserved in flavor. I did notice that the bottle says St. Louis, MO. A little Nova Scotia on the Mississippi, huh?

Your scummy lakes and the City of Toronto don't do a damn thing for me
I'd rather live by the sea."

What would he make of the Big Muddy?
