My tennis-watching history has a gap. Now that I'm back paying attention to tennis, I realize that I've missed a lot. Most of what might be called the Roger Federer era, in fact. Interesting. After I heard his story, years ago, my impression of him changed. He was so worried (or his father was) that people would not accept him if they knew his family's origins that he dyed his hair and shaved his body hair. It is ironic that the dark Sampras was acceptable as is but the dark Agassi might not have been. He was not nearly the bad boy that John McEnroe was and he was such a great player. We have not watched much tennis either. I think they talk to much during the play.
