Furthermore, Ky liked the idea of a holiday observed in honor of the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for their homeland -- he had a hard time thinking of any other nonreligious reason to observe a holiday that was better

[ Without anything to do on that particular day, Daiyousei has been out taking a walk. Maybe she would find Cirno and Wriggle later and see if they wanted to do anything, but for now she's by herself. She couldn't help but overhear Ky's prayer as she passed his assigned house, though the words were completely unfamiliar to her; his words actually sounded a bit like a spell or incantation to her, and she found herself peeking into his backyard to see what he was doing, curious. ]

[Ky makes the Sign of the Cross before climbing back to his feet. Noticing out of the corner of his eye that he has a visitor, he turns to half face her, making sure that the burning flowers never leave his range of vision.]

Can I help you?

[ She squeaks and shrinks in on herself a little, but she doesn't make any move to run away. Gaze flicking to the flowers and deliberately lingering there for a few moments, she then looks back up to him, tilting her head and giving him a questioning look. ]

...Are you, er...simply wondering what I'm doing here?

... There is a great shortage of good men in this world... but it's somehow comforting knowing that you are here, none the less.

[Ky stands up and manages a weary smile.]

Come, let's sit at the table out here.

As you wish, then. -She sets the tray on said table, sitting herself down.-

[Ky sits in another seat, takes a cup of tea, and sips it.]

It occurs to me... We've discussed your past, but we haven't discussed mine much, have we? I've only explained a little about the world from which I come. At least, to the best of my recollection.

[Seems like a lot of people like to walk by your house there Ky. One happens to stop. Huh, the Lords prayer. Ken hadn't heard that one in a while. He knew all those worlds that people came from were different, but he didn't count on that thing being carried over.

He knew he shouldn't stop too long, best not disturb the man in obviously an important ritual. Still...those words didn't hurt as much as he expected them to.]

[Ky performs the Sign of the Cross and stands up. He notices that he's not alone.]

[Ooops, he hadn't meant to watch long enough to be noticed. Oh well, it didn't seem like Ky was too mad about it. Ken smiled and waved.]

Ah, no, sorry about that, I got distracted. I didn't mean to disturb you. [Desperate to make this not so awkward, he picked something out at random]

[Ky is quite visibly nonplussed by this comment.]

[As Ky finishes, he notices Velvet out of the corner of his eye.]

[Ky motions to the rear of the house. Sitting out on a small patio is a table with four chairs.]

*Reisen's... at the house for some reason or another, and can't really help but silently reflect on what she did at the end of her military 'career'*

[Ky finishes, stands up, and slowly turns around. Reisen has the chance to avoid Ky's range of vision if she wants to.]
