Holiday LOLWUT

Nikki's hyper-preparedness has me - not really freaking out, but realizing that I have to make some decisions. Things are basically all fucked up right here due to my family's bizarre travel plans so I'm not going to be able to get through on autopilot. Further complicating the situation, Jason (being the new guy) is working on Thanksgiving and ( Read more... )

That is actually a great idea and I wish I'd thought of it two weeks ago instead of just being in holiday denial. XD But unfortunately, a weekend early means, er, in two or three days. I'm without the car until Saturday and Sat./Sun. there's going to be an electrician here re-wiring some stuff. After talking with Jason last night, I've pretty much decided that I'll do a really simplified turkey thing next Thursday - hot sandwiches or maybe even get deli stuff - just so he has something to look forward to when he gets home from work. My sister always wants me to do a big Korean meal, so I can do that later in the weekend. Then I'll do full-blown bird when my dad is here before Christmas. Really - no one's going to dictate to ME when I should feel thankful! XD

Boston Market is not bad, but my local Stop&Shop and Costco both have rotisseries. I know I've seen turkey breast there in the past. I have a bread maker, so fresh bread, stove top stuffing, canned cranberry sauce some kind of vegetable and a salad should cover it. For dessert I have a really easy recipe for pumpkin cheesecake squares. Korean dinner is generally lots of vegetables - sauteed or pickled - bbq meat (or tofu since both the sister and girl-type are vegetarians), rice and dumplings. The dumplings are a total pain in the ass to make but very delicious!
