Here we go again...mom decided to admit herself back into the mental hospital...I am supposed to go to London next week...my birthday is coming up...is it selfish of me to go to London anyway?

I know my family needs me...but I need sanity...I need a life too...

Maybe you can talk to her and let her know that you want to leave?
I would fathom just going isn't actually selfish - it may get percieved as so, but there comes a time when you just have to do things for yourself as well - the spiraling events that come afterward, I guess you'll just have to ride them out so to speak -
Maybe make a list or just weigh out the so called consequences.
