Haha...this is a welcome break from all the lolita posts on my friends list (if I only could filter EGL post so I only could see when people post pictures of themselves I would)...

Love the photos...hihi :P You look very girly and pretty in the propaganda picture...makes a nice contrast with that gun and the propaganda XD

YOU LOOK AWESOME.

Seriously, I think it's so cool that you go run around in HISTORICALLY ACCURATE FATIGUES and shoot stuff.

I agree - it's almost as cool as Sean Connery's (historically accurate? hmmmm) $20k hairpiece for Red October. Now THAT is costume acting. :P

Sounds to me like someone is having hairpiece envy. ;-)

I can assure you that the hairpiece was only partially historically accurate.

This looks like such insane fun. And you look every bit the part. Does it hurt when you get shot? Is it like paintballing? Or is it mostly pretend?

We use blanks, obtained from a few companies that also supply Hollywood. It's mostly an honor system thing...if you see someone firing at you, and you see the muzzle flash (this works to great effect at night) you die. Or, if you walk into a machine gun nest, you die. If a grenade lands next to you, you die, and so on...we die a lot, ahaha. It's up to the person dying to dramatize it (I like to fly through the air and scream in agony if I get grenaded, for example). It can get a little stupid if someone decides they are invincinble, but most take their hits and have a lot of fun in the process. So, getting shot at doesn't hurt, though you get banged up a little messing around in the field and keeling over dramatically. It's a whole lot of fun, though. Hiding in a trench desperately trying to reload your rifle while the enemy advances with machine guns blazing can actually make you feel a bit like you woke up in 1942. It's great stuff.
