Ten Best Albums of 2006

I don't usually do these sorts of things, since everyone else in the world already seems to do so themselves, but I thought I would this year. takes one to know one, prick

i decided i like the new decemberists. a lot. as far as evolution goes, i'd say they did the best job of that and that's harder to do than to do the same old record over and over--and they even had a new album out last year. richard buckner's new one definitely should be toward the top, but it isn't much different from anything else he's ever done, so it's boring. johnny cash should be toward the top too, but he's been dead for years. and when you say "arguably" i completely agree that there should be an argument about neutral milk--an argument that i win, which is what i always do. i'd give it to tom waits or justin timberlake. or the goo goo dolls.

2006 was boring.

the more i listened to the decemberists, the less i liked it. it got old to me very quickly. i don't think it is nearly as good as their past several records.
