I went to Borders after work today to do some book browsing. I picked a book off the shelf, Mark Twain's The Diary of Adam and Eve, sat down and started reading it. And reading it. And kept reading it until I finished it. The whole damn thing. Now, it is a short book - about 100 pages, and short pages at that - but still, I read the whole freakin' ( Read more... )

Thanks for this. I love that Vonnegut brought those points up, and I'm hoping that they may enlighten some of the more "cynical" members of his audience. Admittedly, I don't know much about the man-- is he a Christian?

he's an atheist. but a church-going atheist, as he puts it.
he goes on to mention that he wouldn't want to live in a world in which Jesus hadn't preached the sermon on the mount.
