so i've finally summoned the courage to read ulysses, that ridiculous behemoth of a masterpiece. started it today. so far so good.

in other news, i was visited by jehovah's witnesses this morning. fun.

oh lord, good luck jon. i can't remember which one is worse, though: that or finnegan's wake. the only novel of his i've read is portrait, which i love, but even the last chapter of that is sorta hard to break through.

hey, even if i can't make it to book club meetings, please keep me posted on the assignments. i'd at least like to keep up with what you're reading. lately i've felt like my reading comprehension is starting to dwindle, which is sort of like the feeling of forgetting a foreign language when you don't practice it so much. i don't like it.

finnegan's wake is worse. it's pretty much unreadable unless you are drunk.
