Well then..

So i went to see the theater-in-the-making production of twelfth night yesterday. It was bizare to see it from the audience, after being the one on stage for so many years. It made me realize how much I miss it. I don't regret choosing proof, that was such an amazing show, but I missed out on a good show. I read in the program that rehearsals are ( Read more... )

maybe i'm just crazy, but it definitely seems like not being serious about acting makes it less fun, not more. it ruins the point. maybe that's why i stopped doing it once i got to high school... no one seemed very serious about it. i mean... say, photography is also an art. you can't just fuck around in that either (well you can, but then you'd be like krystal), you have to dedicate yourself to that if you want to feel proud of yourself. i have no idea if any of that made sense, but yeah. the point would be, i agree.

yeah...i guess the difference between drama and photo is that if you fuck around in photo, you just hurt yourself, but if you fuck around in a show, you hurt your entire cast and production staff too. and with a cast like cabaret, thats literally like 50 or 60 people.

true. theatre is a lot more group-based.... pretty much everyone needs to care in order for it to work. it's good when you can get it... but i guess maybe it's not the ideal thing for a public high school, which is why our department isn't working so well.

which i suppose is why i loved photo, because it was based only on my dedication, and i could get past all the idiots. though hearing about their sex lives in the darkroom made it a lot harder. :p
