I'm constantly cleaning at home, as well. It will bug me if there are dishes in the sink and my mind won't settle til it's done. I'm thankful that Gary isn't a slob or dirty, it think that would really put a strain in our relationship for me. I saw many fights between my parents because of this issue (mom was clean type and dad was a major slob). Also, I used to be the one the clean up everything at my old job, I was constantly cleaning and organizing. I really thought I just worked with the messiest people but I think it's just I'm OCD about organization sometimes (especially at work!) and others aren't. About twice a month I'd be in the break room throwing out shit that was piled up in the refrigerator, I felt like the goddam maid of the place. =P
Today I was thoroughly cleaning my hand vac in the sink (washing it's removable parts and filter) and I thought to myself, how many people actually clean their cleaning products? LOL
Haha...I had to vacuum my vacuum a few months ago...I had finally reached the "Danny Tanner" stage
But I know what you mean. I could not be with someone that didn't have a similar sense of cleanliness. I mean, by all means...I still make a mess. But I can't function with a mess so I'm constantly cleaning things up. And if it's an area that is a common area, that is shared...that most definitely stays clean. It's like at that point, I can not suspend my own level of cleanliness for the sake of my laziness.
What really gets to me is that just people just aren't wired like that...they just don't care, and it's impossible to ingrain in their minds and work ethic, to be clean and organized. BAAAAAAAAAAAAH
i am not that OCD about cleaning... i think i really enjoy an organized communal space, but other than that i am pretty relaxed. there comes the breaking point of course, but, for the most part i tend to be on the more easy going side of cleanliness..
that's fine...its the interaction of it, that is the problem. its just my experience that people that aren't ocd about cleaning their own life, aren't as apt and willing to keep a communal space free and clear. but if you can, then more power to you, i hope your room is as messy as you want it to be! haha
Yeah I'm not OCD about everything, I certainly don't make the bed every morning. Only when I feel like it. And sometimes I give myself a break, like if it's late a night and we just finished dinner I'll just leave the dishes in the sink and do them in the morning (I still rinse them though =P). I hate rotting food smells and try to avoid them as best I can. I don't throw any food scraps or food contaminated things in the garbage. I throw food scraps into our organics bin, which is outside. So no garbage smells inside the house ever! That's what I really like about California, each household gets an organics bin from the city for composts!
