i think that ellee and i will maybe probably somehow someday possibly get married. we dont want a big wedding. we want to do what is in the hymnal during a regular service. like a baptism. baptism is much more important, so i dont see why marriage should take higher priority. figuring out how that would work though is pretty hard ( Read more... )

I have two friends who got married inside the regular church service. If I remember right, the rite went after the sermon and before the congregation recited the creed -- maybe added 10 minutes to the service and the congregation was thrilled. I'm a BIG proponent of doing it that way, although my multi-denominational family will have my wedding inside Matins instead of a Divine Service and on a Tuesday due to random scheduling concerns outside our control.

: ) But isn't there something nice and random about a Tuesday wedding?

We have a friend here who also wants to get married during a regular service. And he says he'll know he's found the right woman for him when he finds one willing to do the wedding like that. His parents think he's crazy...

my parents also believe im crazy. your wedding was ok. i think that the gallery may have had ceilings like that, but they also had those globular things hanging from the ceiling, and art.

All anyone remembers from our actual 'wedding' (not the reception) was the pastor talking about sex. "Signed, sealed, delivered!"
