A/N: It's gen, but... heed the warnings, loves.
She sleeps a lot these days. It's just easy. So much easier than anything else, it seems. The world lives on outside her chamber, but she pays it no heed. She sleeps and dreams no dreams.
Sometimes His visits disturb her slumber.
He has a name, too, but she hasn't voiced it in a century; she remembers how it used to be, what she wanted, who He is. But things changed.
She offers no resistance, her strength a shadow of what it once was.
The lace of recollections are turning to gossamer by now, anyway. Her life (perhaps there was something before Hell?) is growing more distant with each day. His lips on her skin, His hands on her body; His blade easily following old lines; His friend (brother) taking his due, too. These are the things that she knows now.
They draw her blood, eyes rainbows of fire and embers, and leave her there to sleep again.
She thinks, sometimes, that somewhere down the road, she failed.
And He won.
It's hard to sit still. I know I owe comments and answers, but... maybe tomorrow. If the back ache eases.
