I'm going to try and give them the benefit of the doubt and hope that Mark's got another project lined up that actually is going to use him, instead of having him be needlessly beautiful in the background, but I'm REALLY REALLY sad for Spike, because even if they weren't canon boyfriends (and I do sort of think they maybe were), those two clearly loved each other a lot! And Spike was so broken in that last scene!
The moment that actually got to me (I was spoiled ahead of time by the Twitter feed, but I'm pro spoiler, so, eh?) was Lew telling Spike that he should make plans for that evening, because he knew he was going to die and was worried about how his boyfriend would deal *weeps*
(There's a famous ep of "Homicide" where there's a guy who got pushed under a train, and will die as soon as they move the train, and is just stuck there while they conduct his own muder investigation around him. EEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKK)

WHAT. THE. FUCK.
That was my show OTP, too.
CHEAP. UNNECESSARY.
Also, okay, that thing you mentioned about a character knowing when he's going to die? Also I can't handle that. I'm right there with you.
WHAT. THE. HELL.
