Those are some great links (and advice) - thank you! The knitting classes idea jumped out at me right away. I have had so many people talk about wanting to learn to knit. It wouldn't pay the bills necessarily but it's a start.
I'm glad it was useful. I've been thinking a lot about work, and how we work, and what people do to make money, and how I want to make money during my life...
I know it's retail, but try applying at the yarn stores around town? Maybe they get too many applications as it is, but it might be kind of great to work a day a week in a yarn shop.
also, what about doing some volunteering? It won't pay any bills, but would make you feel like you've spent your time well. Dog walk for the SPCA! And it seems like the best way to find out about jobs is by networking, so you never know what random person might come up need some work done.
A friend of mine has started her own business doing writing and editing. She has garnered a bit of part time contract work this way, just by promoting herself on facebook and through twitter, and by setting up a basic website. I think you would be great at this kind of thing, if it interests you.
