round 5: Common Law/Suits: Harvey/Wes

This is Patrick J. Adams fault. In a TV Guide interview he said he thought a giant crossover episode with all the USA kids would be amazing. I have to agree. I figured trying to fit Suits, Psych, Common Law and White Collar into one mix might make my head explode, so I stuck with two. I'm a crack shipper by nature, I crack ship people in my own writing. So I have far too many headcanons for this cross over, but in the interest of this not being the most ridiculous thing ever, I stuck to Harvey and Wes. It's not meant to be shippy and yet somehow it kinda turned out that way. I apologize for spilling my feels everywhere, I should have gone with a Psych/Common Law mix. That would have been good crack shipping fun. Instead you get sadness. All the sadness.
Canon: Suits . The show revolves around Harvey Specter and Mike Ross. Harvey is a senior partner with prestigious law firm Pearson & Hardman. Mike is his associate, only Mike has never gone to law school. He relies on an eidetic memory and Harvey keeps his secret because he is impressed by the kid and probably sees something of himself in him. Harvey is seen as uncaring and ambitious, someone who puts his work and his reputation above all else. There are few people he will actually stick his neck out for and that honor is hard won.
Common Law. Wesley Mitchell and Travis Marks are the best robbery-homicide detectives the LAPD has, they make a fantastic team. Or at least they used to. Now they pretty much hate each other. Their chief, unwilling to throw away a pair of detectives that really do need each other to be the best they can be, sends the two men to couples therapy. Travis is a fly by the seat of his pants smart ass, a womanizer and clown. Wes is a former lawyer with OCD like tendencies who joined the force after a client killed himself and he felt responsible. They are fantastic detectives and they really do balance each other out.
Alternate Universe. Wesley Mitchell was a top lawyer at Pearson & Hardman, often working side by side with friend Harvey Specter. After a case gone wrong in which his client kills themselves Wesley leaves the firm and his former life behind. Joining the NYPD he meets Travis Marks, who becomes his best friend and confidante, helping him through his subsequent divorce from his wife and her relocation to LA. After a robbery at his old law firm involving some highly important files, Mitchell and Marks are called in and Wes comes face to face with his old friend and partner for the first time since he left. He becomes conflicted not only because they both appear slightly jealous of the other's new partners, but also because it appears that Harvey has something to hide.

"This isn't about Alex Wes. You're a lawyer. One of the best lawyers here, you can't just leave."
