Thanks, Steff, and hey, you're right! It is a mystery! I didn't even think about it that way, but all the threads are people trying to get to the bottom of something. I slept terribly last night, though, after being hopped up on words all day. Today required a nap. Now that's done, soon I'll get back to it.

(would love for the above mysteries to collide. As internet seems to actually be working reliably now, perhaps I'll hop on so we can discuss)
