After the conversation with Crawford, (unaware of the discussion of junkie behavior) Schuldig went for a walk in the Nexus in search of candy to satisfy his sweet tooth.
Sally was very proud of her mental shields. She'd worked hard at not only being able to completely hide her own thoughts, but also at being able to block most of her thoughts. A well-trained telepath could (possibly) break through her shields, but to the casual listener, she sounded like every other normal, untalented sheep. A sheep with good shields, but certainly no threat. ...And a good thing she was so well-shielded, too, because that man who just walked by was... no. Could it be?
"Not for this place. Would you like to know the time in Berlin?" He smiles his most charming bad-boy smile. There's something about her he can't quite discern. That alone is enough to make her the focus of his night.
Sally's eyes grow so wide they ache in their sockets as she shakes her head frantically, barely managing to squeak out a "No, that's all right thank you!" If Schuldig is listening, he might 'hear' her slamming her full shields up, and, if he is a true connoisseur of such things, he might even recognise the trademark blank-and-silent shielding that Rosenkreuz taught to those with physical or weak mental powers.
"I'm... I'm sorry to have bothered you, sir, but I really ought to go, I think..."
