[Envy has just been giving the feeds from new people cursory glances, and until this one there weren't any that particularly interested him...but then he hears the phrase "Tucker's work". Which would be enough for him to pay closer attention on its own, but then there's that uniform too. Well, what do you know, another soldier.]

[He's snickering and looking far too amused.] Don't tell me a soldier like you let a little bird get the better of him already.

[Archer returns to the PokéGear a few minutes after the video cut out, looking rather worse for the wear. He takes a moment to check that his hair is back in place before finally noticing that someone is talking to him through this thing.]

So this is some sort of... phone. [Admittedly it's nothing like what he's seen back home - is this a video of the person talking to him? Yes, that's what it appears to be. Archer isn't familiar with the man (woman?) on the other end though, and frowns.]

I wasn't expecting to be ambushed by a chimera of all things.

[Oh. Oh Envy recognizes Archer, now that he can see his face along with the voice. Now he's even more interested than he was before.]

Oh, it's all sorts of things. [Envy sounds totally nonchalant about the technology, nevermind how he'd nearly broken his on first arriving.]

Didn't you get an instruction book? This whole country is full of chimeras, and they're all perfectly happy to attack people on sight.

Is it now? [Archer doesn't sound particularly interested.]

...So am I to take it that Tucker isn't behind these? [Instruction book? Oh come on now, like he could be bothered to read something like that? ...He'll definitely be looking through his things once this strange device shuts off.]

You use the one Pokemon that you received, aru. Or... you could always use hand-to-hand combat. [Not that China encouraged it, but it was an option that was available to others.]

Do all of these creatures attack on sight? [Hand-to-hand combat is out of the question - he doesn't have any training in that! - and without a weapon, it looks as though he'll have to rely on that bat--]

[Wait, where did it go...? Oh, there it is! The PokéGear is jostled for a moment before the screen returns to look at Archer, now with the rather-battered bat perched on his shoulder. Any initial fear of it seems to be gone.] Are all of these... Pokémon bats and birds?

[He returns shortly to answer the PokéGear, looking a little worse from the wear, but otherwise fine.]

Yes, I'm fine. I wasn't expecting to be attacked by a bird. [He certainly doesn't sound pleased.] Does this sort of thing happen often?

...What. [That wasn't exactly a question there. Archer is tending to a small cut on his cheek, but otherwise he looks fine. Evidently he managed to scare the bird off or something.]

[That uniform. He had to be an Amestrian soldier. And judging by the insignia on his shoulders, he was a colonel. Roy had never met this man before, though.]

A word of advice, colonel: use your Zubat.

[Despite what he'd just seen and heard, he seems rather calm. Clearly he's not too worried.]

[He returns shortly to examine the PokéGear, only to find a very familiar face on the screen. Archer's expression contorts to fury for a moment before he controls it, absently tending to a scratch on his cheek.]

Colonel. I'll be sure to keep that in mind. [It's a scathing remark - though when isn't he downright rude to Mustang?]

Do you know how we got here, Mustang? [He would really rather not talk to him, but Mustang is a familiar face in an entirely unfamiliar land.]

[Well, that's weird. This guy not only seems to know him, but Roy could also sense the dislike.

Though, there could be explanations. Like he was from earlier in the timeline, such as during the coup. Roy decides to tread carefully.]

If I knew, then I'd have found a way out of here by now.

I would assume so. [Not answering the question, but perhaps he doesn't have an answer. Archer certainly doesn't.]

What about the others? I assume Hawkeye and Armstrong escaped with you. [How exactly did you three avoid getting killed by those chimeras he had Tucker send at you anyway? ...Come to think of it, what happened to Tucker? Oh well, not that he matters all that much. He would be downright useless here anyway.]
