[Shortly after
meeting up with Kimblee, Archer turns on the video feed. It's currently focused on a Meowth who doesn't seem to be very pleased sitting on the ground, she keeps pawing at Archer's leg in an attempt to get him to pick her up.]
...I'm not entirely sure how this world works, but I believe it's safe to say that it's horrifying.
[He

Welcome to the world of Breeding Pokemon where everything comes from eggs. ...And I really mean it, everything - um, every pokemon, really.

[Anyway, Archer will respond in a few minutes, looking noticeably less manic, though it seems all that shrieking took a toll on his voice.]
...All of them? [But... he has a bat. Bats don't come from eggs. Kittens don't come from eggs. Okay, no, no, he is not going to freak out again. Deep breaths, Archer.]

[The question is far more tense than it should be, and after a moment, Archer amends,] Is there any particular reason? Is it just this world's way of doing things?

Oh. Hey, thank you for answering your own question!] If there are, I don't know them. Yes, it seems to be this world's way of doing things ...Nice for everyone, I guess when most pokemon can breed with each other, no matter what species they are. [It makes no sense when you compare everything to the real world!]
Reply
[What.]
But that makes no sense...!
[...It's this world. This world is screwed up. Logic has died here. Don't try to reason with it. Calm down.]
[Okay. Okay. So this world is just screwed. Alright, he can deal with that.]
Well that seems... rather ridiculous. Wouldn't this world have a massive overpopulation problem if that were the case? Obviously there are those who train these creatures, but not everyone catches all the creatures they see... and the ones that are harmed during battles in the wild aren't killed...
[Don't mind him thinking aloud, Winry! If he stops talking he'll probably start freaking out again, and no one needs that.]
Reply
Uh huh, I'm sure it's not the first thing here that doesn't make any sense...
[Nope, she doesn't mind. She's just not sure as to what she should say now.]
Hey, maybe the world of Pokemon is a huge place and Johto is just one part of it and they can go... Somewhere else. To cause an overpopulation there. But you know, the routes here seem to be full of wild pokemon, I guess it's no wonder when you consider how they breed... I assume they have many places to go even here in Johto anyway!
Reply
...No, I don't want to know. [Let's just... leave it at that, then!]
[Winry's next comment causes Archer to pause for a moment, frowning.] I suppose there would have to be other areas... Still, it seems a bit excessive if any two of these creatures within the same "egg group" can mate.
[There's a slight pause while Archer glances off-screen at the kitten.] ...I really don't want to know.

[And she shrugs again.] Hey, at least now you know that they all come from eggs, sir. I assume that most people here don't want to know more about it, so we can just keep it as one of the mysteries... So, let's not get into more details here.
That's an adorable kitten~.

[That comment actually earns a smirk from Archer.] Yes, I suppose that is for the best.
[Archer turns the Gear to focus on the kitten - which is a good thing since otherwise Winry would have caught sight of the genuine smile.] Yes, she certainly is. [He's not very open in his adoration of "cute" things, but cats are the obvious exception.]
Reply
[Yup, that's definitely for the best.]
[She's smiling at the kitten. Can she hear a smile? Probably not. But he just agreed to what she said - she's a bit surprised, but hey, that just makes her smile go wider. Hey, kitty kitty kitty~ she'd pat you if you were at the same place with her.] So, have you named her yet?

It's been quite awhile for you, then. [Archer doesn't offer any sort of apology though - this isn't the Winry from his world (whom he had only met once anyway), and Edward Elric is here... She's probably enjoying herself.]
[Archer is quiet for a moment after the question of the name, frowning. He's thought about it but the only thing that comes to mind is Kimbley and like hell he's naming this cat after that moron. She's far too cute for that. ...Oh, and she's a girl.]
Not yet, no. Kimblee seems quite fond of calling her "Eggbeast," however.
[He sounds somewhere between amused and irritated; at least the cat hasn't started responding to that horrid nickname yet.]

Winry tilts her head to the right. Hmmm. Naming pokemon wasn't always an easy thing to...
...She's trying not to laugh, really she is really trying not to. It would be so impolite to laugh here right now, but that name was just hilarious...
Winry bursts into laugh.] I'm sorry. [And she's laughing more, and more and even more.
...And more. Sorry!
She calms down after a while, looking at the kitten with a cheerful face.] I think she reminds me of names Luna and Moon.
[Not that she'd ever call anything Eggbeast - except some of Ed's metal eating pokemon, maybe!]
Reply
Luna is certainly a nice name. I'll take it into consideration. Thank you.
