Title: This Time Around
Author: sadnlonleyme
Pairing/Group: Ryo/Uchi
Rating: PG-13
Authors note: I've always loved Ryo but this soft spot that I have for Uchi just keeps on growing and growing. <3 This is actually going to be a two piece. The other one will focus mainly on Hiroki.
Summary: Uchi was finally given a drama again.
His fingers drummed along the steering wheel as he waited for the train to arrive, which wasn't scheduled for another 10 minutes. That was fine, he was early and needed some time to think, not that he hasn't done that all day already. It was his day off for once, he wasn't at some drama shoot, no pv filming, running between news or kanjani8. It had been such a long time since he got to be by himself, to rest and just reevaluate his life. and boy did he. Things were finally looking better for Hiroki. They were going to be in a drama together. It's crazy how they went in a full circle like that. Two years ago, the other was pulled out of the drama, the first one for both of them to be in together. Now, after so much had happened, they were back to that, filming a drama together. Though things weren't exactly the same anymore, the gap have been there for too long, it was enough for now. He would like Hiroki to be back in Kanjani8 and NEWS but that could wait, one step at a time. For now, Ryo could have Hiroki back to himself, just for a little bit.
Maybe now, they could be together again. Last year, they broke up. Not because they stopped loving each other but because they both needed time apart, to decide what they truly wanted. Hiroki was frustrated with being a trainee again, his future looked so bleak and he started to take up new hobbies. Every time Ryo visited him, there was always something new with him. And they would go so long without seeing each other, not that Ryo could help it. It was his schedule that was always packed, too busy to be a boyfriend. Hiroki understood the lifestyle of an idol but sometimes it was just too hard, to see Ryo living a life that used to be his as well. They would get into stupid arguments, yelling over nothing, only to make up soon after. It was a push and pull that was slowly ruining their relationship but the same reason why the worked so well with each other. They knew each other so well, which buttons to push, which words would cross the line. They knew how to hurt each other but they also knew how to make the other feel good too. And it's not like Ryo could ever stay mad at Hiroki for long, that's just how they were. Even with his pride, when it came to the younger boy, Ryo always gave in. A part of him gave in out of love, but a part of him gave in out of guilt as well. He felt like he owed it to Uchi, for not being able to protect him in the past. And that was a huge argument that came up over and over again. Hiroki doesn't blame Ryo, the older man blamed himself. It was to the point where it frustrated Uchi and ultimately made him suggest the break up. They both needed to find themselves again.
After they broke up, it's not like much changed between them. They still hung out, still talked. It's not like they could cut each other out of their life completely, not that they even wanted to. They were best friends and always will be, they just had so much history together. It actually surprised everyone how easy the transition from dating to friends again went, then again, the transition from friends to dating was easy too. Probably because no matter what title they held, they still loved each other. And that love was so strong, that it couldn't be easily defined.
That being said, Ryo still had needs and sexual frustrations. Stress piled up from work and he needed to let it out somehow, and Hiroki shot him down with his friends with benefits request. That bastard. Ryo wasn't ashamed of watching porn but when doing that, it was just him and his hand. And it might've done the trick if he was still 14, but after having sex so many times, his hand really wasn't going to cut it anymore. That year as a single man, was filled with booze and pink saloons, and lots of sexcapades. His manager actually said he was getting a headache from stopping the press from printing all the gossip. It was always funny to Ryo that he could be a total asshole and a drunken douche all he wanted, and the country wouldn't care as much because he was of age. He earned disapproving looks, sideway glances but the most he'll get is a slap on the wrist.
Even after all the girls he's been with, he never tried to start a real relationship with them, it was all physical. Because in the end, he knew that Hiroki was meant for him. There's no one else he wanted to be with more, than that younger man. No one understood him more than Hiroki, not because they've been together for so many years, well that did play a important role but more importantly, they were a lot more similar than people noticed. Through the media, the image that had been sculpted for him, Hiroki is feminine, a bit girly and cries easily. That is all true, but there's more to his personality than people realize. They were both really honest and blunt, Hiroki just says it in a nicer way. But he isn't afraid of letting other's know his feelings, what he liked and didn't liked. And even if he didn't show it openly to everyone, Ryo had feelings like any other human. He cares about his friends, People say that opposites attract but Ryo likes to think Hirok's and his similarities is what makes them perfect for each other.
A tap from his passenger window broke his train of though. Looking up, he saw Hiroki. Grinning, he unlocked the doors. Ryo's ready to start his life with Hiroki again.
