Well.

Nothing beats coming home, finding your computer un-sleep-moded itself, and that it's stuck on a black screen of death (ie: Windows, it cannot start).

Able to post this via Safe Mode, but, uh, anybody know any good diagnostics one can run on a machine error like this?

Yikes. Last time I had something like that happen it was a fried motherboard, and then years later, a total computer meltdown due to computer just being, well, old. :( Both cases = new computer.

Shoot, that's exactly what I'm afraid of. Still, good to know!

I suppose I'll be frantically backing everything up whilst in safe mode, then, and I'll try not to get my hopes up for a system recovery.

Technology = god how I hate it.
