A bit of a surprise yesterday. I was told I was getting a paycheck this week, even though I only started here on Monday. Turns out that it's because the Financial Aid Counselor position is an exempt (salary) position, which was news to me. Of course, the pay is only for my first week of work, but I'm certainly not complaining ( Read more... )

Hey, congrats on getting a new job. I remember the last time we talked, it took you forever to get through to unemployment to start collecting!!!!

I got the unemployment bennies in 3 weeks. But it was the initial filing that was a nightmare.

I was on the phone on hold for an hour and a half before I got someone to talk to me, so that I could file my initial claim. Feh.

But I'm stoked to be working again - especially with *this* job! :-)
