Ratchet saw a flash white out of the corner of his eye, passing outside one of the windows of the room he'd claimed for his lab. "Wheeljack," he said, setting aside the laser he was calibrating to stand. "Could you-" he broke off, cycling his optics as the other turned towards him. "Bumblebee," He said cautiously, moving closer to the open window. "Why in all of the world's do you look like that?"
Bumblebee flashed the medic of his own version of a smile and pirouetted, showing off his changed design. "Not bad, hm?" He said. "Even if I look like I'm trying to be a Seeker." The smaller mechs form had been altered slightly; longer, sleeker lines and a crisp white paint job marked with red. He almost did look like a Seeker, all dramatic colors and smooth lines, the illusion only ruined by the tires peeking out from under his shoulders. "It's Halloween," Bumblebee explained. "I'm 'dressing up' with Sam and Mikaela."
"Are they Seekers, too?" Ratchet asked, going back to his seat.
Bumblebee gave a buzzing snort. "Obviously. No, we're going as characters from an Earth cartoon."
Before Ratchet could question his friend further, a loud "There you are!" rang out. Sam and Mikaela appeared in Ratchet's line of vision, Sam in crisp blue and white with a helmet, Mikaela in something pink and slim, an utter departure from the usual denim and cotton Ratchet was used to seeing the two wearing. Sam shot the medic a short wave before grinning up at his guardian. "Ready to go?"
Bumblebee's answer was to fold up into his new alt-form; a low-slung, rather pointy-looking racer with a large red 'M' emblazoned on the hood. Bemused, Ratchet watched the two humans laugh in delight and jump in the car, who in turn revved his engines and drove off, the strains of some jaunty tune floating back to the medic.
'He's gainin' on you so you better look alive.
He's busy revvin' up a powerful Mach 5.'
Shaking his head, Ratchet went back to his calibrations and made a mental note to research this 'Halloween' later on.
