As sad as this is, I can see this so much more than the outcome given us by Bay (esp his treatment of Hide!!) I just see him as the last bot standing...And I could totally see him doing special things for his humans like saving them cigs. He's not Ratchet, and he knows they need comfort in a world of pain. Wow, this one is a punch in the gut...But I love it!! FF.net won't let me comment there right now. You nail Hide on so many levels in this little ficcy =) wow...Gritty and perfect and I even like Mikeala here. We don't see her much with Will, and it goes so well!!

Love this, and the just-barely-sketched-out details that convey so much about this world. (You know how Chinese landscape paintings are? Just a couple of brushstrokes and yet somehow that's enough to give you a whole background? Same here.) Harsh, but weirdly comforting, and it works very well.
