Dr. Wily stood before four of his creations, hands clasped behind his back. "Ok, gentlemen." He said. "I've decided that trying to force my will isn't working too well," He ignored Forte's snickers and continued "Therefore, I want the four of you to try a more diplomatic approach."

"Sorry, Doc." Forte said, looking bored. "I don't do diplomatic."

"You will or I'll use you for scrap parts." Wily replied, glaring icily at the biroid. "Now, here's what you will do."

QuickMan grumbled as they walked down a darkening street, heading for the residential section of the nearest city. "Did he finally loose it completely?" he asked, stretching his arms up and settling his hands behind his head. "I mean, 'You can catch more flies with honey than vinegar'? You can blow up more flies with some napalm than honey."

ShadowMan shook his head. "You sound like Grenade. There is some truth to Wily's idea. Humans tend to react more positively towards diplomacy than terrorism."

"Hello, earth to Shadow." CentaurMan said, rapping lightly on the shorter robot's head lightly with his knuckles "We're MADE for terrorism."

Shadow brushed away the offending hand. 'Yeah, I know. But do we HAVE to go door to door?"

"Be thankful." Forte said, looking back over his shoulder. "He could have made pamphlets. Now hurry up, the first house is right here."

The four biroids walked up to the house, trying to appear as non- threatening as possible in full armor. Forte raised his fist to knock, but the door was pulled open before his fist could descend. A middle-aged woman stood there, a bowl of candy under one arm. "Oh, wow!" She exclaimed. "George, the first Trick-or-Treaters are here! Oh, honey, come look at these costumes!" She peered closely at the four dumbfounded robots. "Oh, don't you have candy bags? Here, dears." She disappeared for a moment then reappeared with five plastic pumpkins. "here, one for each of you, and two for you, young man, for whoever's in the back of that costume of yours!" She smiled cheerfully, dropping a few pieces of candy into each pumpkin. "Now, have a Happy Halloween!" She chirruped, shutting the door.

Forte blinked, then turned to look at his companions. All of them looked about how he felt, completely weirded out. Quick recovered fastest, examining the candy in his bucket. "Heeey, Snickers!" He said happily, unwrapping a confection.

Forte shook his head. "C'mon, let's try the next house." He led the way down the sidewalk to the next house and knocked on the door. "Hello." He said as a man opened the door. "We are from Dr-"

"Cool costumes, kids." The man said with a grin. "I like the metallic look. Here, I got some SweetTarts for you all." He dropped a few pieces in each bucket and shut the door.

"What the heck is all of this about?" Shadow asked when they reached the sidewalk again. "Candy? Because they like how we look?"

Quick, another mini Snickers in his mouth, pointed down the street. 'Lookit that, we ain't the only ones." A few houses away, several little kids, dressed like monsters from a number of horror movies, were holding out pumpkin buckets towards the owner of the house. The lady was smiling, dropping a few candies in each bucket. "Must be some sort of human celebration."

"Costume day?" Centaur asked. "Whatever it is, we get candy from it!"

Forte grinned. "I think Wily's diplomacy can wait for a day." He looked back at the kids, who had reached the next house and were chorusing 'Trick or Treat!' "Who's up for some candy?"

"I second that!" Quick said, unwrapping his SweetTarts.

"Lets go for it." Centaur said.

They walked up to the next house down, chorusing 'Trick ot Treat!' Like they had seen the kids do. The lady smiled, oohed and ahhed over their armors and gave them each a popcorn ball. Forte grinned as they turned away. "Now THIS is easy!"

They walked up and down the street, visiting each house they came to. They quickly learned that only the houses with lights on were the ones that gave out treats. When they finished with one street, they moved over a block and continued.

One rather large house stood out near the end of the street. By now they had gotten the gist of the Halloween thing and boldly walked up to the door and knocked.

Blues answered the door, wearing a cape, fangs, and his sun glasses. He froze when he saw the four biroids before him. "Oh, for the love of Pete." Blues muttered. "I refuse to believe this."

"Trick or Treat, old man." Forte said with a grin. "Got any snacks?"

Blues seemed to roll his eyes, shifting through a bowl beside the door. "Dear creeping gods, what the hell is wrong with me?" He muttered. "Yeah, I guess I do. As long as you haven't blown anything up lately."

"Scouts honor." Shadow said. "No explosions in at least two weeks."

Blues shook his head, dumping a few candy bars into their buckets. "Get the hell out of here." He said. "Before I sic Tango on you."

Forte grinned as the door practically slammed on them. "Happy effin' Halloween, old man!" He called.

Wily grumbled, stomping down the wide front stairway of his fortress. His four 'diplomats' should have been back an hour ago. Squinting towards the city, he saw four familiar figures walking towards the Fortress. Wily waited, his eyes going wide in disbelief as they got close enough to see properly. They were talking and laughing and munching on candy, all holding plastic pumpkin buckets, Centaur with two.

"Ey, Quick, wanna trade a Milky Way for a Blow Pop?" Forte asked, digging through the plastic pumpkin in his hand. "It's cheery."

"Sure!" Quick chirruped, apparently hyper off the sugar he'd consumed. "Any more trades- Oh, hello Doc."

The four stopped, realizing they were face to face with their creator, who wasn't looking too happy. Centaur stepped forward, holding out his extra bucket. "Happy Halloween, Doc." He said brightly. "I got an extra bucket of candy, want some?"

Wily stared in complete disbelief before snatching the bucket and storming back inside, muttering about idiotic robots and retarded human holidays. Centaur looked at his fellow Trick-or-Treaters and shrugged.

"Guess he won't be too mad." Shadow quipped, digging around for a Tootsie Roll. "After all, we DID bring him a gift."

"Yeah, I suppose so." Forte said. "C'mon, lets go tell the others. We can ALL go next year!"

"Cool!"

"Great!"

"Maybe we could get some new costumes."
