Urgh. I am struggling to come to terms with my conflicting love for Amy Pond as played by Karen Gillan and the overwhelming desire to punch Stephan Moffat in the face. WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT CONVERSATION LAST NIGHT.
There were a number of ways that could have been done well. THAT WAS NOT ONE OF THEM.

1.) His female characters. Just. No, dude. No.
2.) His potentially asexual characters. STOP IT, DAMN YOU.
3.) How much headcanon is required in order to make sense of so much of his stuff. It would be so much easier to punch him in the face than it is to try and work around the vague nonsense he puts out there.
SIGH.
At least he made the daleks tolerable, which is no mean feat.

However, I totally understand why people don't like her, and why there is so much hatred for the way he writes women in general. But honestly, this was the first time it was so awful that even I couldn't cover my ears and cry "LALALALLALA NOPE I AM GOING TO ENJOY THIS IF IT KILLS ME DAMMIT LALALALLALA." Just. No. He really hit two tropes I just personally can't handle: Bisexuality Is A Funny Phase! and Hey I Love You But I Am Going To Break Up With You For This Reason That I'm Not Going To Discuss Because My Uterus ( ... )

And yesss, SHOW DON'T TELL. SHOW DON'T TELL. Part of the reason I have never been able to ship Amy and Rory is because Rory is forever demonstrating his love with mighty deeds and Amy is just using her words and expecting it to carry the exact same amount of weight (especially considering that her deeds include things like 'giving Rory up' repeatedly). Blargh.
