Procrastination

What should I be doing right now? Why, writing a paper! What am I doing right now? Trying to decide which of my seven stalled stories to work on. Nothing's jumping out at me, so, stolen from lls_mutant

The first TEN people to comment in this post get to request a drabble/ficlet of any pairing/character of their choosing from me. In return, they have to post ( Read more... )

The Places He Went, Felix, Deus Ex Asteroid verse safenthecity May 9 2009, 02:15:18 UTC
Felix wasn't quite sure what he was going to do. The Webisodes had been scripted, shot, and wrapped, and Battlestar Galactica was officially over. He suddenly found himself wondering, what now?

Oh, he could stay in the Battlestar scripts if he wanted, but there were too many painful reminders of everyone who had died. Generics were in all the roles, and Felix thanked the gods that nobody actually bothered to read the scripts once the show aired. That was the thing about being a television character- once your Outland actor had gotten the scene on film, that would be forever the way the Outland saw you, so if chaos hit an old script, very few Outlanders would ever be the wiser.

Of course, this wasn't always to a character's advantage, but Battlestar had been fortunate enough to have an excellent cast. Not everyone had been so lucky- the new Star Wars movies, for example.

Felix pushed that thought away. It wasn't his problem anymore. His problem now was where did he want to go? Lost had been paradise in the few hours before the ( ... )

"It's..."

"Isn't it perfect?"

"I was going to say... odd."

Felix looked at Louis, who was taking in his surroundings with an edge of unease. "Don't you like it?"

"I'm just surprised that you do. Nothing here makes sense, baby."

"Exactly. I wanted something different, something where we will never even have to think the word 'technobabble' ever again ( ... )

And there's more! I swear, I wrote that first review before I saw the second part . . .
Love these two so much . . . (pets)

:D I'm glad I didn't make it impossible to guess where he was- I don't like being too obscure. It's good to know that a fellow Suess fan got it. I just had to have the last line confirming the actual book he ended up in- my sister and I were talking about it, and as soon as the words came out of her mouth, I knew it had to be so.

:) Yay! Now write me my ficlet! Go, Brennan, Go!

HAHAHA Star Wars prequel snark is always a win. Along with bonus Twilight dissing. ILU.

RESTAURANTS SHAPED LIKE FOOD! I am now literally drawing hearts around this. My monitor will never recover.

I really need to read more Thursday Next. I read the first one, then... got distracted by a thing.

Hey, if I don't get in at least one non-BSG dig in per go, I have failed the glory that is the Bookworld. (And Fforde gets in a pretty good dig at fanfiction in First Among Sequels that had me giggling.)

Oh, your poor monitor! But yay for the hearts. :) The entire TN series is so fantastic, especially once Jurisfiction enters the scene. SHEER BRILLIANCE.

Thanks! I had so much fun with this- I was talking to my sister while I was writing DEA, and somehow said "And then they live happily ever after in the backstory of some kid's book." And she was cooking at the time and went, "Green Eggs and Ham!" and thus, this. :) Honestly, I think I enjoy this verse a little too much.

:DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

He moved into Seusville! Love it so much! Thank you!

The parts about Lost, Star Wars, and Twilight made me smile.

The thought of him wandering around with all the furry critters just gives me so much enjoyment. I will now picture all my favorite childhood characters walking around muttering "frak." . . . . o_O Okay, maybe not my brightest move; my twisted mind skipped immediately to a very bad "Green Eggs and Ham" adaptation.

Shutting up now.

Hee, did you see that there was a second part to this? It was too long all for one comment. I was just thinking, after I wrote the original, that Suessland would be the perfect place to go for him to have built a house with 27 staircases, especially since some don't go anywhere.

And yes, the idea of Felix Gaeta, Colonial tactics officer, wandering around Nool (spelling?) cracked. me. up. Oh, Jasper Fforde, what a brilliant man you are for creating a world in which this is possible.

So glad you liked. :D

See, just because YOU shut up doesn't mean my brain did. You have only yourself to blame for this.

"Would you, could you, in a bed? Would you, could you give me-"

"Louis! This is a children's book!"

"And we're in the backstory, Mr. Gaeta. This is the part the kids don't get to see."

"Still."

"Are you saying that we're going to stop having sex while we're here? Because I will insist we move."

"I didn't say that."

"I thought not. Anyway, I'm having fun with this rhyming thing."

"I told you you'd like it here."

"So, would you do it 'neath a tree? Would you, could you, by the sea?"

"I would do you in a boat, I would, I could, beside a moat."

"Would you do it in a car? Could you do it in a bar?"

"I would do you in a chair, I would frak you anywhere."

BWAHAHAHA!

The main story was hilarious, too, but this literally made me LOL.
