Despite getting a little winged about a third of he way through the Quantitative Reasoning section, I still managed to crawl my way out of the GMAT with a 710 combined score (Not counting the writing section, on which I expect to have done well). For those otherwise unaware, that's pretty darned good. (Oh, and for those further unaware, the GMAT's ( Read more... )

Congrats! Sounds like you and Sunshine are both headed back! Would you be here whilst she was in Seattle?

That resembles at least one of the possible plans rather closely, yes. :) Now to the next phase: Actually applying...

Yo, well done! Well, assuming the GMAT isn't for meatheads, anyway, which I'm guessing, based on context, that it is not. Sounds like your prospects of heading back up to our region are pretty good!

Neat! Good luck on overcoming issues with undergrad GPA....that's one of things my boyfriend is trying to figure out a way around for his potential trip to grad school (in education). As crazy as it drove me at the time, I'm really glad that LC had me on a scholarship where I had to keep a 3.0. I never would have chased my GPA that hard otherwise (I did a lot of strategic dropping of difficult classes and careful balancing of subjects within each term).

If there's one thing I've learned in life, it's that you're NEVER done with standardized tests, but congratulations on surviving this round.

Also, if you need a place to crash in Portland for a few days as part of any exciting and crazy education-related plans, I live on a decent bus line and have a guest room.

You're a doll, LJ. I thought you were living Elsewhere, teaching, though? How've you been doing?

I got a teaching job in Portland this year so I'm back from the wilds of Vernonia to someplace with bus routes. I live in SW Portland now.

I'm doing ok, although teaching is a really exhausting career. I've heard it gets easier after about 5 years when you actually have a clue how to do your job. I've been dating two_star for a bit over a year now. I totally suck at keeping up with people, which is why you never hear from me. How've you been?

Living in Austin.
Love the people (some of them, anyway).
Hate the State.
Biding my time for a chance to get back NW...

You?
