I recall my family's cars looking like that bug-splattered truck when they returned from a trip to the ranch (California) in the fifties. In more recent years, there were few bugs. What happened to them? Pesticides? I don't know what kind of bugs they were.

Hi Wendy,
If you ever have insect questions, my dad is a world-renowned entomologist. He can identify a tiny flickering moth from across a room and recite its Latin name.

On a side note, did you get my emails regarding my story "Human Help Desk"? The acceptance on May 3 asked me to return the attached contract, but there was no attachment.
