Last night Anna had a friend spend the night. At 4:30 in the morning Rachel called to tell me her window was open and she could hear voices coming from my yard. So I checked all the kids--Adam and Abby were asleep. Anna's room was empty. I quietly walked around the outside of the house to find Anna and her friend on the deck ( Read more... )

Does Rachel live next to you? That is an unexpectedly positive softening of having Anna be able to go back and forth.

But eep! My brother played hooky from school and had his girlfriend over to our house when he was 15. I came home from high school on my lunch break to find them cuddled up in bed talking. I called my dad! He drove right over, threw humiliated girlfriend into the car and drove her home. LOL. Good times.

All those teenage hormones flying around all over the place. Ah, I remember it well.

Rachel is two doors up from us.

Overall, things are going quite well. Some snags, but we are getting along well and she is opening up a little. What would I do without Rachel?

I had actually considered something like that for Abby. It never occurred to me that Anna would be the one to do something like that! She was puzzled by my reaction. One, she didn't sneak out, she walked right out the front door. Two, she loves to sit on the deck at night and I know this. Three, she didn't leave the yard. Four, they weren't doing anything! lol Teen logic, that book has been written before and there are no new chapters. :D

all understood - except those boys don't live in your house - so did THEY sneak out? I'd really question that and them and their parents.

The one boy has two parents who (I have heard) are drunks and pill heads and could not care less what he does or where he goes. The other boy...I don't know about him, nor do I know his parents. I do know they were at a sleepover with another boy and when he went to sleep, they went for a walk, and that's when they passed my house.

Very suspicious but that's the story the girls are sticking with.

I considered tracking down the parents but I'm not sure.
