goal-setting and blind spots

I'm starting to work through the next iteration of my 101 in 1001 list, which will renew sometime in January, and I'm having a hard time coming up with more than a dozen or so items. Surely there are other learning opportunities, fun activities, and horizon-expanding moments I could seek out, but I'm stumped. It occurs to me that some of the best ( Read more... )

The next 1001 will have most of the kids out of the house, and the youngest ones fairly self-propelling, yes? Just trying to take into account how much time-liberty you're likely to have.

PB will be a senior in college, I think, if not graduated (hard to say with all the transfer stuff). LadySadie will have transitioned to a 4-yr college, unless she changes her Plan. B.Ryce graduates in 2015. So, yes...we'd be down to 50% of what we had when I started this last iteration.

KierMan will be a senior in HS when the next 1001 expires. That means FionaPie will be a sophomore and KiraDeara will be in 8th grade. Lord help me.

The first thing that came to mind for me: Pick a class from each college student's courseload, have them copy the syllabus for you, then go buy the required books and play along at home. (And if it's a *really* cool class, share the love and we'll all play along! lol)
