1.) Got word that someone in my field is 'raring to go' when it comes to hiring me. Woo. I don't know if I've ever made anyone 'rare' before, using rare as a verb rather than an adjective (NB-- I don't know that I've made anyone rare as an adjective either, come to think of it ( Read more... )

I think "raring" is much like "ain't", in that the word you would assume is its root from its construction isn't really, and the word you hear is really a heavily accented version of the word it really was once upon a time.

I have no idea what the root verb of "raring" is, but I am pretty sure it isn't "rare". "Roar", maybe.

At any rate, I hope you do get that job!!!
