My Top 5 Christmas Movies:

5. Bridget Jones' Diary. Okay, so it's only partially set around the holidays, but it begins with Colin Firth in a reindeer jumper and ends with him and Renee Z kissing in the snow, so I'm not sure what else you could ask for.

4. The Holiday. Basically this is two movies and one is good, and one is very boring. When the ( Read more... )

It's pretty! :) We don't even have ours decorated yet, and a huge amount of post still hasn't gone (including two international cards for people whose addresses I only just got,or who randomly sent me a card after not doing so in a while!), so this is pretty much My Christmas Nightmare Come True.

I'm going to get the decorations down from the attic and put them up later, after I've cleared out my room for scrr coming to stay on Christmas evening. The advantage of clearing out my room several days before Christmas is that for once I can decorate it in a non-"OMG it's Christmas Eve already; quick! throw some tinsel around!" way. Well, it'll still pretty much be throwing tinsel around, but at least not in that sad completely last-minute way.

Five favourite Christmas films? No particular order: The Muppet Christmas Carol, The Box of Delights (okay, so it's a miniseries rather than a film, but no Christmas is complete without it!), Prancer, Home Alone, and... hmm. Guilty please? Santa Claus: The Movie.

Guilty pleasure, not 'please'. Clearly I do not have the spare brain cells to spell properly.

Oh, for years I remembered that last movie only as 'the one with exploding candy canes' and it drove me crazy that no one else in the fam seemed to remember it. Thanks to the magic of the internet I recently discovered its actual title. I should re-watch.

PUCE POPS: THE GIFT EVERY KID WANTS.

With hindsight it's a very schmaltzy movie, but the central idea of Santa's elf becoming spiritually lost in the landscape of a modern, commercial Christmas is interesting. Also, I love the introductory bit showing where Santa came from in the first place...

I do love Home Alone! Other favourite are Bridget Jones (but only the first one), Balto (lol furry) and It's a Wonderful Life.

Your tree is hawt. Especially when lit up.

Is the Santa Clause the one with Tim Allen? If it is...FIRST? You put it FIRST?

Don't even get my started on "The Holiday". I can't cry!. Gutted, Diaz. Gutted.

I do, however, approve of Home Alone's inclusion. The Lost in New York one right?

I ALREADY SAID THAT PART WAS CRAP.

No, the first one. The Law of Sequels is in effect, and the original is best.

Did the bit with Jude's kids make you want to kill things too?

NOT SO! SEQUEL'S BETTER! Although not as good as Uncle Buck.

Hmm. I love me the traditional Christmas movies except that one with Jimmy Stewart... I don't know why. Probably because I don't like Jimmy Stewart. :P Jim Carrey's The Grinch tops my list. It would, I know.

Oooh! Oooh! I learned how to send pics from the Bberry Storm to the computer (GO ME!) so I shall be posting a few now and again in my LJ!

Back to you: Loving the Christmas tree. :D

I love your tree, all luminous and glowing. But I can't even think of any Christmas movies! Happy Christmas.
