I know what you're going through. Well, not personally, but we've been battling the beast this past year at our place. I'm really glad the medication has helped for you, (it hasn't here very much), though I'm wondering if there's any way you could access counselling in the public health system. It has been available for us, which has been a godsend financially.
Again, like you, I never thought it would happen to my family. It's been a huge learning curve that I didn't anticipate ever having to go on, though it has brought us all closer together in many ways. I'm here if you ever need to vent.
Thanks a lot. I'm sure you are doing a wonderful job. I have tried to keep the worst from my parents because it doesn't do any of us good to feel helpless, but they have been as supportive as they can be from a different state. I don't think I qualify for completely free counselling but I should be able to get some subsidised sessions.
So sorry to hear of your struggles. I will email you. Only just read this post, so am late with a reply. Re medication, I always think that if you have a broken leg plaster and crutches are used, and for depression medication is the equivalent treatment. XXX
