I had an absolutely lovely Easter weekend. There were homemade hot cross buns, Easter nests, and roast lamb with Yorkshire pud. My only role in any of this was to artfully arrange the eggs in the nests. I also enjoyed the traditional three Cs of Easter: chocolate, church, and 'crap, essay marking ( Read more... )

Sounds like a lovely time! I'm envious of your afternoon naps; I've always been a really terrible nap-taker and either never get to sleep at all, or wake feeling awful and groggy and just generally out of sorts.

I'm not very good at naps either. I always sleep too long and fail at the 'don't sleep after 4pm' rule. I guess we should just keep practising until we become world-expert nap-takers.

Mmmmm, home-made hot cross buns. I need to do that - we've had them a couple of times from the shop, and I have to pick out all the currants and candied peel! Though doing that with the point of a sharp knife is weirdly... fun. Go figure.

LOL. The bakeries here also do chocolate chip hot cross buns, without the fruit but with the spices. They'd be perfect for you.

It's kind of sad when a person gets comments for *not* drinking.

Firstly, ICON! ♥

Secondly, yes, alcohol just generally does not mix with medication, and that sucks. I always feel terrible when I'm at holiday gatherings or something and I'm the only one completely sober.

Also, your Easter feaster sounds delicious. I haven't had proper Yorkshire puddings in ages (Although I don't think Canadian versions are proper, but you know what I mean).

Ugh. I don't mind being sober so much as I just really like to drink, especially wine. I just enjoy it. I gave alcohol up for Lent because I knew I would really miss it, so it makes me really sad that I can't have it back now. Although I guess I can, just at the expense of falling asleep at the table, which, no.

I'm sure any kind of baked carb slathered in gravy tastes good! No roast meal is complete without one.
