This seems to be a few facts surrounded by distortions, exaggerations and
outright lies. I wouldn't worry about this one. There are too many other
spill-related issues that are real and worth worrying about.

Also, someone I trust on Twitter (memory? What memory?) said it was exaggerated, too.

Yes, probably. But the situation is still dire enough, and if you're thinking of buying property anywhere within a couple of hundred miles of the Gulf? Don't.

My FiL would be sick unto death if he weren't already dead. He was a charterboat captain for Gulf Deepwater fishing most of his adult life. He'd lived in Destin FL since he was 9.

His widow is happy they sold out of Destin, and then out of Niceville (across the inland waterway from Destin) for the spill and other reasons. The land they lived on will be flooded over later this century.

I came across your journal through a mutual LJ friend and your journal looked so beautiful - hope you don't mind me adding you :-)

That's fine--I'm assuming you read over her shoulder, as most of my posts are f-locked, due to unfortunate experiences with a couple of trolls.

No this was the first entry of yours I saw. I noticed you first through a comment you left in ysabetwordsmiths LJ about Isaac Bonewitz's passing :-( and when I looked at your profile and what entries I could read, I was very drawn to it (you seem to have a truly caring, magical spirit.) I understand about trolls - almost all my entries are f-locked too. Gemma "ELF"
