"Bathroom Mats"

Growing up, I remember having these particular bathroom mats. They were made of what looked like flat noodles, each one a radically different color, that were weaved together to form a kind of vibrant tapestry, which would absorb water and momentarily spare your feet from the cold tiles of the bathroom floor. I don't agree with Olek at all. Or rather I dislike the tone and all it insinuates. I wouldn't underestimate children.

I don't think its weird. Easily overlooked but so ingrained in everyday life.
Just because the object isn't directly Indian, doesn't mean its not culturally truthful. (And I'm sure a lot of cultures are the same way).
[Remember right before our euro trip, I asked you what kind of towel you were bringing, and you said a thin absorbent one from India. I remember Viktor having something very similar from Russia.]
So the thing is, it may be culturally truthful, whether it was made in China sold in dollar stores around the globe in many different countries.
But.. yeah, in conclusion, i could see why you felt a small part of your childhood was a sham. Though its still kinda Indian.. if you think of it as its part of the culture that surrounds Junction which is diverse with immigrants, so Indian American living in Queens? yeah? maybe? feel a little bit better bout this? maybe not? yeah..
