What a crock

Life is good.  Yesterday I finished up a huge, obnoxious work project that had been eating up all of my work time AND my free time.  I feel a little like I used to after finals -- relieved to be finished and like I just want to put the whole awful experience behind me and revel in having free time again.  Although, I realizing (again) how having ( Read more... )

Yeah, now that the airlines are cracking down on baggage I'm going to have to pack very strategically. Ugh, packing...

Think Geek is great, if, you know, you buy presents for geeks. :)

Hooray for being done with Le Huge Obnoxiousness! And I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who secretly wishes for a vacation after I get done with some big thing at work. :)

Excellent idea -- my brother is a total geek. He's a software programmer and fully embraces his geek tendencies. Last year we got each other the Battlestar Galactica DVDs. :P

I don't do online shopping, so I can't think of any cool sites. But I always love giving people a whole bunch of really small gifts instead of one big one and I'd imagine it'd be easier to do online, since you wouldn't have to physically go to a dozen stores.

I was thinking about things like an assortment of earrings for my sister in law. Maybe I could present it all in a pretty way... (Wrapping and presentation are not my strong suit -- I need the practice!)

Mailing is always a pretty good way of doing it; especially if you go with smaller sized gifts. When my sister was taking the train from NYC to Philly we used to ship her gifts up to her after Christmas so she didn't have as much to cart around. Of course, you have to shop early but that can be it's own kind of relief. It's probably a little cheaper than the on-line shopping because you're paying one shipping fee rather than lot of smaller shipping fees.

I may also end up doing some gift certificate type things. I'm going to try to get it figured out this weekend. Mailing stuff home sounds like a really good solution, though. I think my boyfriend asked his mom for a food processor, which I suspect won't fit into his carry on bag. ;)
