Doctor Who - Big Bang

I liked the finale.  I'm a sucker for happy endings, and seeing Amy, Rory (alive!), and the Doctor about to start a new adventure was a satisfying conclusion for me.  Does that mean Rory is going to be a regular companion next season???  I was kind of meh about his character initially, but I might like him more than Amy now, which was a surprise.  And I think it would be neat to mix-up the recent formula by having two companions.  I also liked the ending because all the "fairy tale" descriptions started to make sense -- Amy ended up with parents, got rid of the crack, and also got Rory and the Doctor and adventures on the immediate agenda.  The extreme agnst from the last few seasons was starting to wear on me, and ending with smiles was a plus in my book.

I kind of like that there were some seeds being planted for next season's longer plot during this season.  I wonder if they're still going to have River Song be played by Alex Kingston, or if they'll introduce a younger version of her (which would be very much like the book The Time Traveler's Wife)?

I'm not at the OMG-must-rewatch-episodes-multiple-times level of fannishness for this past season (the way I was for the 9th and 10th Doctors) but I did like most of the episodes and will probably at least rewatch them once to look for clues for next season or to see how they foreshadowed everything in this season.
